Rules
Eligibility
⚽ Players outside the profession may be included in teams but are limited to 2 on the field per team at any time.
⚽ Any abuse of this rule will result in disqualification from the tournament.
⚽ All players must be 18 years of age or older.
Teams
⚽ Each team consists of 6 field players and 1 goalkeeper.
⚽ There must be a mixed-gender presence on the field at all times.
⚽ There is no limit to the number of substitutions during a match.
⚽ There is no limit to the overall team size off the field.
⚽ If a team is unable to field 7 players (due to injury, suspension, hangover, etc.), they are allowed and encouraged to borrow players from other teams.
⚽ Eligible players from the original team must be given priority; repeated abuse of this rule may result in disqualification from the tournament.
Equipment
⚽ All players must wear matching football jerseys or t-shirts of the same color.
We will provide pinnies if two teams have similar colors.
⚽ Matches will be played on grass fields and artificial turf.
⚽ Appropriate athletic footwear must be worn.
⚽ Metal studded boots are strictly prohibited.
⚽ Molded plastic cleats are allowed.
We strongly recommend that all players wear shin guards.
Refereeing
⚽ For Saturday matches, each team will be asked to designate one or two referees to officiate games throughout the day.
⚽ For Sunday matches: knockout-stage games will be officiated by referees from the host club. All other matches will be refereed by representatives from each participating team.
A mandatory meeting for all designated referees will take place Friday evening at 7:00 PM to review the rules.
⚽ Each referee must report to the officials’ table 15 minutes before the start of their assigned match to collect a whistle, stopwatch, and scorecard. All materials must be returned at the end of the match.
